چکیده

Introduction T1 mapping is a novel quantitative method for myocardial tissue characterization. Reference values of myocardium and blood have been established at 1.5T (Messroghli, MRM, 2007). CMR at 3T is a rapidly maturing field, and T1 values generally increase with magnetic field strength, making it necessary to establish new reference values at this higher field strength. The aim of this study is to establish preand post-contrast myocardium and blood reference T1 values at 3T.

T1 at 1.5T and 3T compared with conventional T2* at 1.5T for cardiac siderosis

BACKGROUND Myocardial black blood (BB) T2* relaxometry at 1.5T provides robust, reproducible and calibrated non-invasive assessment of cardiac iron burden. In vitro data has shown that like T2*, novel native Modified Look-Locker Inversion recovery (MOLLI) T1 shortens with increasing tissue iron. The relative merits of T1 and T2* are largely unexplored. We compared the established 1.5T BB T2* te...

Myocardial T1 responds to adenosine - normal values of stress T1 reactivity at 1.5T and 3T

Background Myocardial vasodilator reserve is an important surrogate marker of normal and abnormal cardiac physiology. Pharmacological vasodilator agents such as adenosine increase myocardial blood volume, which is expected to prolong the observed T1-relaxation. We explored the novel application of stress T1-mapping by assessing the response of myocardial T1 to the administration of adenosine in...

Myocardial T1 and extracellular volume fraction mapping at 3 tesla

BACKGROUND To compare 11 heartbeat (HB) and 17 HB modified lock locker inversion recovery (MOLLI) pulse sequence at 3T and to establish preliminary reference values for myocardial T1 and the extracellular volume fraction (ECV). METHODS Both phantoms and normal volunteers were scanned at 3T using 11 HB and 17 HB MOLLI sequence with the following parameters: spatial resolution = 1.75 × 1.75 × 1...

Age and sex corrected normal reference values of T1, T2 T2* and ECV in healthy subjects at 3T CMR

BACKGROUND Myocardial T1, T2 and T2* imaging techniques become increasingly used in clinical practice. While normal values for T1, T2 and T2* times are well established for 1.5 Tesla (T) cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR), data for 3T remain scarce. Therefore we sought to determine normal reference values relative to gender and age and day to day reproducibility for native T1, T2, T2* mapp...

Variability of T1 in purpose recruited normal volunteers and patients as a function of shim (B0), flip angle (B1) and myocardial sector at 3T

Methods 36 subjects (including 20 normal volunteers) were scanned using an investigational prototype sequence on a 3T scanner (MAGNETOM Skyra, Siemens AG, Germany). T1 was measured using three Methods MOLLI with a flip angle of 20 ̊, MOLLI with flip angle 35 ̊, and 2-parameter SASHA with a variable flip angle (VFA) readout. B0 and B1 field maps were generated. Sector level, intra-subject, between...
